In a move that has college football fans and recruiters on edge, elite linebacker Duyon Forkpa Jr. is set to make his highly anticipated college commitment this Saturday. The 4-star prospect has narrowed down his choices to a select group of top-tier programs, and ahead of his decision, Forkpa Jr. opened up about the key factors influencing his choice.

Speaking in an exclusive interview Thursday night, Forkpa Jr. emphasized that the decision goes beyond just football.

> “I’m looking for a place where I can grow as a person, not just an athlete,” Forkpa Jr. said. “It’s about culture, coaching stability, and how invested the school is in their players’ futures—both on and off the field.”

Forkpa Jr., ranked among the top linebackers in the class of 2025, has been on the radar of major programs across the country. His final list reportedly includes Alabama, Penn State, Oregon, and Texas A\&M, though Forkpa has remained tight-lipped about a clear front-runner.

He highlighted three non-negotiable qualities he’s looking for:

1. **Development** – “I want to go where I know I’ll be pushed every day. A place that’s known for developing talent at my position and preparing guys for the next level.”

2. **Brotherhood** – “When I visit schools, I’m watching how players interact. I want to be part of a real brotherhood—where everyone is holding each other accountable.”

3. **Academic Support** – “My family’s big on education. I want to major in business, so a strong academic program is a must.”

Forkpa Jr. has taken official visits to all four of his finalists and said the decision process has been both exciting and challenging.

> “It’s been a blessing. These are great schools with great coaches, but at the end of the day, I can only pick one. I’ve prayed on it, talked it over with my parents, and I’ll be ready come Saturday.”

The announcement is expected to come during a live stream scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 PM EST on his Instagram page.
