Much of the offseason chatter around the Minnesota Vikings has centered on the future of starting quarterback Sam Darnold, but the team has a number of under-the-radar pending free agents who could complicate things further this March.
The top priorities figure to be key defenders like cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. and safety Cam Bynum, but what about veteran running back Aaron Jones?Jones signed a one-year deal with Minnesota this past offseason, and his presence helped balance out coach Kevin O’Connell’s offense. With that said, the Vikings will need to get younger at that position, and Jones could be coveted on the open market as a do-it-all back, especially by a team looking to establish a two-back committee.
Marcus Mosher of the 33rd Team predicts Jones will land with a third NFC North team in as many years, this time with new head coach Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears. Here was his take on Chicago stealing Minnesota’s starting RB:
