Stephen Curry, already a record-breaking force on the basketball court, is now dominating in a different arena—collectibles. Topps, the renowned trading card and memorabilia company, announced this week that a limited-edition Curry trading card has shattered records, becoming the highest-selling modern basketball card in the company’s history.

The card, which features an autographed holographic image of Curry along with a piece of game-worn jersey from the Warriors’ 2022 championship season, sold at auction for a staggering $3.2 million. That figure eclipses previous records held by legends like LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the modern trading card era.

Topps released the card as part of its “Legends in Motion” series, a premium collection celebrating iconic athletes who have changed the face of their sport. Only 10 copies of the Curry card were produced, each with a unique serial number and hand-signed by the two-time MVP himself.

“This isn’t just a piece of sports memorabilia,” said Topps CEO Michael Brandt. “It’s a testament to Stephen Curry’s enduring legacy and the global impact of his career, both on and off the court.”

Curry, known for revolutionizing the game with his deep three-point shooting and unmatched leadership, has long been a fan favorite and collector’s dream. But this latest milestone is another example of how his brand transcends basketball.

“I’m humbled by the support and love from fans around the world,” Curry said in a statement. “Breaking records off the court is something I never imagined growing up collecting cards myself. It’s wild.”

Industry insiders point to a sharp rise in sports memorabilia interest since the COVID-19 pandemic, with trading cards emerging as a serious asset class. Experts believe the Curry card’s value could continue to grow, especially as he nears the end of his Hall of Fame career.

While Curry continues to lead the Golden State Warriors into a new era, it’s clear his influence is being felt far beyond the hardwood. Whether it’s sinking half-court shots or setting new standards in the collectibles market, Stephen Curry remains in a league of his own.
