In a blockbuster move that has sent shockwaves through the NBA, the Indiana Pacers have officially announced the signing of veteran to forward Draymond Green, formerly of the Golden State Warriors.

The deal, finalized just minutes ago, marks one of the most significant free-agent acquisitions of the season. Green, a three-time NBA champion and Defensive Player of the Year, is expected to bring veteran leadership, defensive tenacity, and playmaking prowess to the Pacers’ roster.

Sources close to the negotiation say the Pacers offered Green a multi-year contract with competitive terms that convinced the star forward to leave Golden State, where he has been a cornerstone for over a decade. The Warriors, who recently entered a rebuilding phase, reportedly did not match Indiana’s offer.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle expressed excitement about the new addition. “Draymond is a unique player—his intensity and basketball IQ are off the charts. We’re thrilled to have him here, and we believe he will make a huge impact both on and off the court,” Carlisle said.

Fans and analysts alike are already speculating how Green’s arrival will affect the Pacers’ dynamic, particularly alongside young stars like Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner. With Green’s ability to guard multiple positions and facilitate offense, Indiana looks poised to make a serious playoff push in the coming season.

Draymond Green, 34, posted averages of 8.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists last season, demonstrating his well-rounded game. His leadership and defensive prowess earned him NBA All-Defensive Team honors multiple times.

The Pacers will host their first press conference with Green tomorrow at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
