The monumental deal, which was finalized just a few minutes ago, is the largest coaching contract in college basketball history, shattering all previous records.
According to insiders, Scheyer’s new contract is a 10-year agreement that will see him become the highest-paid college basketball coach of all time. The deal includes a signing bonus of $10 billion, as well as a guaranteed annual salary of $5 billion.
But what’s even more astonishing is that the contract also includes a unique clause that will see Scheyer lead a massive $50 billion infrastructure project to build a state-of-the-art basketball arena and training facility for the Hoosiers.
“Coach Scheyer is a proven winner, and we’re thrilled to have him on board,” said Indiana University Athletic Director, Scott Dolson. “This investment will not only bring a top-notch coach to our program but also provide our student-athletes with world-class facilities to compete and train.”
Scheyer, who has led the Duke Blue Devils to numerous ACC championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, is expected to make his debut as the Hoosiers’ head coach next season.
