The Florida Panthers have officially confirmed a massive $775 million stadium renovation project set to begin in early 2025, according to sources close to the team and confirmed by NSPN. The ambitious redevelopment plan is aimed at transforming Amerant Bank Arena into a state-of-the-art facility that will rival the best in the NHL and elevate the fan experience to a whole new level.

Modernization Meets Tradition

The renovation, scheduled to roll out in phases over the next two years, will include significant upgrades to seating, premium suites, digital infrastructure, and fan amenities. Key features of the plan include:

  • A new 360-degree LED scoreboard—one of the largest in the NHL.
  • Luxury club-level lounges and VIP suites with private entrances and exclusive amenities.
  • Enhanced concourse space with more diverse food and beverage options.
  • A climate-controlled atrium connecting the arena with an expanded fan plaza and entertainment district.
  • Sustainability upgrades, including solar panel installations and water-saving systems.

“After years of planning, we’re thrilled to finally bring this vision to life,” said Panthers President & CEO Matthew Caldwell. “This isn’t just a facelift—it’s a complete reimagination of what a hockey arena can be in South Florida.”

Economic Impact and Community Investment

The project, funded through a mix of private investment and public-private partnerships with Broward County, is projected to generate over 3,500 construction jobs and a significant economic boost to the surrounding area. Officials estimate the renovations could inject more than $1.2 billion into the local economy over the next decade through increased tourism, hospitality, and retail activity.

“We’re investing not just in a building, but in the community that supports us,” Caldwell added. “Our goal is to create a destination that South Florida can be proud of year-round.”

Fan Reactions and Timeline

Panthers fans have greeted the announcement with excitement, especially after the team’s recent success and growing popularity. With record attendance numbers last season and a strong playoff run, momentum is on the Panthers’ side.

Construction is expected to begin after the conclusion of the 2024-25 NHL season. The team will continue to play at Amerant Bank Arena during renovations, with phased closures and alternative access routes planned to minimize disruption.

The full renovation is scheduled for completion by the start of the 2027-28 NHL season.
