In an inspiring and heartfelt gesture, Arkansas Razorbacks’ No. 1 basketball star, Johnell Davis, has confirmed he is donating half of his NIL earnings—estimated to be over $500,000—to support homeless individuals demanding urgent access to shelter, food, and mental health services.

Davis, who recently transferred from Florida Atlantic and quickly became the face of the Razorbacks under new head coach John Calipari, said the decision came after witnessing protests and outreach events organized by local advocacy groups in Fayetteville.

> “I see the pain in my own community,” Davis said in a press statement. “If I’m in a position to help, I’m going to do it. This is bigger than basketball.”

The donation will be distributed through several Arkansas-based non-profits focused on transitional housing, mobile meal programs, and youth shelters. A portion will also go directly to emergency aid for individuals currently living on the streets.

Head coach John Calipari praised Davis’s leadership, calling the act “a reminder of the type of young man he is—not just a player, but a difference-maker.”

Fans and fellow athletes have taken to social media in support of Davis, with many calling him a “real MVP on and off the court.”

This bold move by Davis is already sparking conversations across college athletics about social responsibility, the power of NIL deals, and how young athletes can use their platforms fo
