Sesko’s Frustrating Night as United Salvage Late Draw Against Spurs
Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham on Saturday was full of late drama, ending in a 2-2 draw that left fans breathless. For much of the match, it looked like Ruben Amorim’s side would leave empty-handed after Richarlison’s late header, but Matthijs de Ligt had other ideas—rising highest in stoppage time to snatch a valuable point.
United had earlier taken the lead through Bryan Mbeumo, who found the net just after the half-hour mark. The visitors held firm until the 84th minute, when Mathys Tel struck to level the score. Moments later, Richarlison thought he’d sealed the win for Spurs, only for De Ligt to rescue United right at the death.
But the final moments were bittersweet for United fans, as summer signing Benjamin Šeško watched from the sidelines. The £74 million forward, brought in from RB Leipzig amid high expectations, came on just after the hour mark but was forced off in the 85th minute with a leg injury—leaving United to finish the match with ten men.

Amorim Opens Up on Sesko’s Growing Pains
Before kickoff, Amorim had already hinted at the challenges facing his young striker. Speaking candidly, the Portuguese coach admitted that Sesko is finding life in Manchester tougher than expected.
“I’m calm—he’s not,” Amorim said with a wry smile. “He came here with huge expectations, everyone calling him the next big thing. But when you join a club like Manchester United, you soon realise how demanding it really is.”
Amorim went on to describe Sesko as a “control freak” who’s still learning to handle the unpredictability of top-flight football.
“He wants to control everything, but that’s impossible here,” he added. “It’s normal to struggle. It’s not criticism—it’s part of growing up in this environment. Opinions change quickly in football, sometimes in a matter of weeks.”
Sesko has scored only twice this season, and now faces a spell on the sidelines after limping off with what appeared to be a knee issue.

United Make Plea to Keep Mbeumo Before AFCON
Bryan Mbeumo’s goal continued his impressive run of form, but his availability could soon become a major concern for United. The Cameroon international is expected to join his national side ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations on December 21, potentially ruling him out of key Premier League fixtures.
According to reports, United are hoping to strike a deal with the Cameroon Football Federation—headed by former Chelsea legend Samuel Eto’o—to allow Mbeumo to remain in England a little longer. The club wants him available for upcoming clashes against Bournemouth (Dec 13) and Aston Villa (Dec 21) before flying out to join his countrymen.
Sources suggest Eto’o and the Cameroonian FA may be open to discussions, which could see Mbeumo arrive late for Cameroon’s first AFCON match against Gabon on December 24. However, if Cameroon enjoy a deep run in the tournament, United could be without their in-form winger until mid-January.
