GOOD NEWS: Read more about Kentucky guard Otega Oweh’s midseason win of the coveted Oscar Robertson Trophy.

As of now, Otega Oweh has not won the Oscar Robertson Trophy. However, he has been named to the midseason watch list for the award, highlighting his outstanding performance this season.

The Oscar Robertson Trophy, presented by the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), recognizes the nation’s top men’s college basketball player.

Oweh, a junior guard for the Kentucky Wildcats, leads the team with an average of 15.6 points per game. He has scored in double figures in all 21 games this season, making him one of only 13 Division I players to achieve this feat.

His consistent high-level play has been instrumental in Kentucky’s strong performance, including a recent 83-82 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners, where Oweh scored a career-high 23 points in the second half and secured the game-winning shot.

The final recipient of the Oscar Robertson Trophy will be announced during the NCAA Men’s Final Four in San Antonio, scheduled from April 5-7, 2025.

Oweh’s inclusion on the midseason watch list underscores his significant contributions to Kentucky’s success this season.
