Ethan Nwaneri Ruled Out of Arsenal’s Clash Against PSV
Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri will not be available for selection in the club’s upcoming UEFA Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven. The 17-year-old midfielder, who has been making waves with his performances at youth level, will miss the trip due to eligibility restrictions and squad selection decisions.
Nwaneri, who became Arsenal’s youngest-ever Premier League debutant in 2022, has been highly rated within the club’s academy and has impressed in limited first-team opportunities. However, he was not registered in Arsenal’s Champions League squad for the knockout stages, meaning he cannot feature in the last-16 tie against the Dutch side.
Despite his absence, Mikel Arteta has plenty of midfield options, with Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard, Jorginho, and Kai Havertz all available for selection. Youngster Charlie Patino, who has returned from his loan spell at Swansea City, was also left out of the squad, emphasizing Arteta’s preference for experience in European competition.
