ESPN CONFIRMED: Dallas Mavericks Approves $997 Million Air plane Renovation Project for 2025 and …see more
In a stunning move that has left NBA fans and aviation enthusiasts alike speechless, the Dallas Mavericks have officially approved a $997 million renovation project—not for their arena, but for their team airplane.
According to sources close to the organization, the renovation will transform the team’s current Boeing 777 into what insiders are calling “a flying arena in the sky.” The project is set to begin in early 2025, with completion expected by the start of the 2025–26 NBA season.
What’s included in the renovation:
A full-sized indoor basketball court with parquet flooring.
Private suites for each player, each equipped with a jacuzzi, a gaming station, and AI-powered nutrition stations.
A two-level coaching analytics center, allowing staff to review game film at 35,000 feet.
State-of-the-art cryotherapy chambers and recovery pods.
A retractable roof, “just in case we want to scrimmage above the clouds,” said owner Mark Cuban.
When reached for comment, Mavericks star Luka Dončić laughed and said, “If we can’t win on the road with this, we’ve got no excuse.”
Critics have raised eyebrows at the price tag, which exceeds the budgets of some NBA teams’ entire operational expenses. But Cuban defended the decision: “This isn’t just a plane. It’s a mindset. If we’re going to fly, we’re flying first class—on our terms.”
The NBA has yet to comment on whether such an aircraft could violate any travel-related salary cap loopholes. Meanwhile, several players from rival teams have reportedly requested trades to Dallas.
