ESPN has confirmed that two of the Boston Red Sox’s most critical players, Rafael Devers and Jarren Duran, will be sidelined for today’s game against the Texas Rangers.

According to team sources, Devers is nursing a tight hamstring sustained during the weekend series, while Duran is out due to illness. The Red Sox medical staff is taking a cautious approach with both players to avoid aggravating their conditions.

This news comes as a blow to the Red Sox, who are in the middle of a tight AL East race and heavily rely on Devers’ power and Duran’s speed at the top of the lineup. The team has yet to announce who will fill in for them in the starting lineup, but manager Alex Cora is expected to shuffle his batting order accordingly.

More updates to follow as the Red Sox release further information ahead of first
