ESPN has confirmed that the Arizona Cardinals and their ownership group, Rising, have officially approved a massive $775 million stadium renovation project set to begin in early 2025.
The project, one of the most ambitious in NFL history, aims to transform State Farm Stadium into a state-of-the-art facility featuring modern fan experiences, cutting-edge technology, and sustainability upgrades. The renovations will include a retractable roof upgrade, 360-degree digital video board, expanded seating capacity, luxury suites redesign, and enhanced accessibility.
Rising, the Cardinals’ ownership group led by principal owner Michael Bidwill, announced that the funding will be a combination of private investment and limited public partnership. No relocation or temporary venue change will be required, as construction will be phased to allow the team to continue playing at the stadium throughout the renovation period.
“This is a generational commitment to the fans, the community, and the future of Cardinals football,” Bidwill said in a statement. “We are creating a next-level experience that reflects Arizona’s growth, energy, and our long-term vision.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed his support for the project, citing it as a “key example of how NFL franchises are elevating the game-day experience across the league.”
Construction is slated to begin shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season, with major milestones expected ahead of the 2026 Super Bowl
