Earlier today, it was reported that forward Jakub Vrana does not expect to re-sign with the Nashville Predators ahead of the NHL’s free agency period, which begins July 1. According to Anthony Di Marco of Daily Faceoff, Vrana is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, following a one-year, $775,000 contract he signed with the Washington Capitals before the season .

Vrana’s tenure with the Predators began in March when Nashville claimed him off waivers from the Capitals. At the time, he had recorded 11 points (7 goals, 4 assists) in 26 games with Washington . His move to Nashville reunited him with General Manager Barry Trotz, who had previously coached him to a Stanley Cup victory with the Capitals in 2018 .

During his brief stint with the Predators, Vrana contributed offensively, including scoring his first goal for the team in a game against the Anaheim Ducks . However, with the impending free agency period, it appears both Vrana and the Predators are preparing to part ways.

As Vrana approaches free agency, he is expected to attract interest from various teams seeking to bolster their offensive lines. His experience and previous success in the NHL make him a valuable asset for potential suitors.
