Breaking: Tyson Foerster has been re-signed by the Philadelphia Flyers to a two-year, $7.5 million…

In a move signaling their continued investment in young talent, the Philadelphia Flyers have officially re-signed forward Tyson Foerster to a two-year contract worth $7.5 million, the team announced today.

Foerster, 23, has become a key piece of the Flyers’ evolving core, and this new deal—carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $3.75 million—reflects the organization’s confidence in his continued development and contribution.

The 2024–25 season marked a breakout campaign for Foerster, who notched a career-high in goals and points while proving himself as a reliable two-way presence. Known for his heavy shot and hockey IQ, Foerster has earned trust from the coaching staff in key situations, including power play and penalty kill time.

Flyers General Manager Daniel Brière expressed enthusiasm about the deal, stating, “Tyson has shown tremendous growth since entering the league. His work ethic, skill, and commitment to the team make him a critical part of our plans moving forward.”

Drafted 23rd overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, Foerster has steadily progressed through the Flyers’ system, including a strong stint with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL. Since becoming a full-time NHL player, he’s been lauded for his maturity and on-ice discipline.

This two-year deal also gives the Flyers valuable flexibility as they continue to navigate the salary cap and reshape their roster under head coach John Tortorella. With young stars like Cutter Gauthier and Jamie Drysdale also taking on larger roles, Foerster’s extension helps solidify a core group the Flyers hope can return the franchise to playoff contention.

Foerster will enter the 2025–26 season as one of the team’s key offensive drivers, and all eyes will be on how he builds on his recent success.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Flyers’ offseason unfolds.
