In a recent interview on the Duralavita podcast, Ramón Forcada, former chief mechanic for Yamaha in MotoGP, discussed the persistent technical challenges facing the Japanese manufacturer, particularly concerning their height regulation systems. Forcada emphasized that recurring issues are indicative of fundamental design flaws rather than mere mechanical failures. He suggested that Yamaha’s approach to innovation is hindered by a deeply ingrained culture that prioritizes perfection and caution over rapid adaptation and experimentation.

Forcada’s insights shed light on the broader challenges faced by Japanese manufacturers in the highly competitive MotoGP arena. While Yamaha’s technical team has made efforts to evolve, Forcada believes that a more radical shift in mindset and approach is necessary to regain competitiveness.
