North Carolina senior guard RJ Davis has been named the recipient of the 2025 Jerry West Award, an annual honor presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to the top shooting guard in men’s college basketball.

Davis, a standout leader for the Tar Heels, capped off a remarkable senior campaign by earning one of college basketball’s most prestigious positional awards. Known for his scoring ability, clutch performances, and veteran leadership, Davis was a consistent force on both ends of the court throughout the 2024–25 season.

He averaged over 20 points per game while shooting efficiently from beyond the arc and the free throw line. In addition to his offensive output, Davis also provided stability and poise in the backcourt, guiding UNC to a deep NCAA Tournament run and helping restore the program to national prominence.

“This is a tremendous honor,” Davis said in a statement. “To be recognized with an award named after a legend like Jerry West means a lot to me. I’m thankful for my coaches, teammates, and everyone at Carolina who supported me on this journey.”

The Jerry West Award is one of five positional honors presented by the Basketball Hall of Fame, each named after an NBA legend. Davis joins a distinguished list of past winners, and his selection reflects not only individual excellence but also his impact on a resurgent Tar Heels program.

With this accolade, Davis closes his college career as one of the most decorated guards in UNC history, leaving a legacy marked by perseverance, performance, and pride in the Carolina blue.
