Netflix has officially announced the global release date for one of the most anticipated sports documentaries of the decade. Titled “The Underdog,” the film chronicles the incredible rise of Stephen Curry, the iconic Golden State Warriors guard and one of the most transformative figures in basketball history. The documentary is scheduled to premiere worldwide on September 20, 2025.

“The Underdog” takes fans on a deep journey through Stephen Curry’s life, starting with his overlooked high school recruitment, his breakout college years at Davidson, and his doubted entrance into the NBA.
