In a bizarre turn of events, Arizona Diamondbacks star outfielder Corbin Carroll expressed his frustration Monday morning—not at a teammate, rival, or umpire, but at a shade of color.

“I’m so disappointed in the Arizona Diamond Black,” Carroll said during a press conference, referencing the team’s newly unveiled alternate uniforms. “It was supposed to be intimidating… but it looks more like charcoal gray with commitment issues.”

The team’s new “Diamond Black” jerseys, launched to much fanfare last week, were intended to symbolize strength, boldness, and desert nights. Instead, players and fans alike have taken to social media with memes comparing the color to “overcooked toast” and “printer ink running low.”

Even Carroll’s mom chimed in. “He looks like he’s about to work the night shift at a fancy coffee shop,” she posted on X (formerly Twitter).

In response, team officials say they are “re-evaluating the dye-to-fabric ratio” and considering adding a splash of venomous red to “bring the fear back.”

Meanwhile, Carroll is reportedly lobbying for the return of the classic Sedona Red uniforms. “At least that color committed to being weird,” he said.
