BREAKING NEWS: Florida Panthers All-Star ⭐ Sam Reinhart Suspended by MLB After Positive Drug Test
In what can only be described as one of the strangest disciplinary actions in modern sports history, Florida Panthers superstar Sam Reinhart has been suspended by Major League Baseball (MLB) after testing positive for a banned substance — despite never having played a single inning of professional baseball.
The 29-year-old forward, fresh off a career-best NHL season and a Stanley Cup Final appearance, is reportedly “confused but flattered” by the decision.
According to a leaked report, Reinhart’s drug test was mistakenly submitted during a Miami Marlins promotional event, where he took batting practice for charity. Within 48 hours, MLB announced that Reinhart had tested positive for “Zamboniol,” a synthetic compound known for enhancing slapshot accuracy and post-game hair flow.
🚨 MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred addressed the media this morning:
“While Sam Reinhart is clearly not an MLB player, the league’s anti-doping policy applies to all athletes within 200 feet of a dugout. He broke that barrier. We had to act.”
The NHL, meanwhile, is baffled.
“We’re reviewing the situation, but as far as we know, the MLB has no jurisdiction over our players unless they start stealing bases,” said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
When reached for comment, Reinhart responded:
“I hit one home run in a batting cage, and suddenly I’m facing a suspension from a league I’ve never been in? I was just trying to raise money for kids. Also… what is Zamboniol?”
