Breaking News: Fire Erupts at USC’s Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Los Angeles, CA – March 4, 2025
A massive fire broke out at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, home to the USC Trojans, earlier today. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as emergency crews rushed to the scene.
According to eyewitness reports, the fire started in the upper seating area on the east side of the stadium around midday. Flames quickly spread, engulfing several rows of seats before firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but authorities are investigating whether it was sparked by ongoing maintenance work.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) dispatched multiple units to battle the blaze. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the flames, preventing them from spreading to the stadium’s press box and historic peristyle end. No injuries have been reported so far, but officials have urged people to avoid the area due to heavy smoke and falling debris.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure the fire is under control and that everyone is safe,” said an LAFD spokesperson. “We will conduct a full investigation to determine the cause.”
USC officials have not yet released a statement, but concerns are growing over potential structural damage to the stadium, which has hosted countless historic sporting events since its opening in 192
