
The project, which has been in planning for nearly two years, will be located adjacent to TD Garden, serving as a complementary venue for select games, training events, community programs, and exclusive VIP experiences. Celtics executives, city officials, and NBA representatives attended the ceremonial groundbreaking this afternoon, praising the development as a “milestone investment in Boston’s sports legacy.”
“This isn’t just a new structure,” said Celtics President of Operations Brad Stevens. “It’s a symbol of our long-term commitment to the city, our fans, and the future of Celtics basketball.”
The new grandstand will feature:
14,804+ capacity seating, optimized for both comfort and acoustics
Luxury VIP suites with panoramic views
A dedicated Celtics heritage museum wing
Advanced eco-sustainability features
Enhanced accessibility options and public transport connections
Construction is expected to be completed in phases, with a tentative grand opening planned for late 2026.
