In a significant boost to the Collingwood Football Club’s finals campaign, club doctor Darcy Moore has confirmed that the team is medically fit and prepared to perform consistently throughout the month of October. The announcement follows a comprehensive round of medical evaluations and physical assessments conducted earlier this week.

Speaking at a press conference at the AIA Centre this morning, Dr. Moore — who transitioned into a medical role after his celebrated playing career — stated that the players are “in top physical condition,” with no major injury concerns heading into the critical final rounds of the AFL season.

“The results from our latest medical check-ups are extremely positive,” Moore said. “We’ve seen excellent recovery rates, strong fitness levels, and a team that’s mentally and physically primed for high-performance football.”

This update comes at a crucial time for the Magpies, who are looking to regain their dominant form after a mixed run of results leading into the finals. With several players recently returning from injury, including midfield stalwart Jack Crisp and young gun Nick Daicos, fans have been eager for reassurance on the squad’s overall health and readiness.

Moore also emphasized the role of advanced sports science, recovery protocols, and individualized training programs in ensuring player readiness. He credited the club’s high-performance team for keeping the squad in peak condition throughout the grueling season.

“We’re not just reacting to injuries — we’re preventing them. That’s been a key part of our strategy this year,” Moore added.

Coach Craig McRae echoed Moore’s confidence, noting that the team’s cohesion and intensity at training this week have been among the best all year.

Collingwood, currently sitting in the top four, is set to face a tough finals series starting this weekend. With medical clearance and team morale high, the Magpies are shaping up as genuine contenders for the 2025 AFL Premiership.

Fans will be watching closely to see if this clean bill of health can translate into on-field dominance — and perhaps, another flag for the black and white army.
