In a stunning move that is sending shockwaves through the NBA, the Boston Celtics have officially signed rising star forward Packer Ty to a 5-year, $150 million deal, marking one of the biggest offseason acquisitions in recent franchise history.

Sources confirm that the deal was finalized late Thursday evening, as Celtics executives closed negotiations with Ty’s agent in a highly competitive bidding war that included interest from multiple playoff contenders.

Ty, 26, has become one of the league’s most dynamic forwards, known for his explosive scoring, versatility on both ends of the court, and leadership presence. Last season with the Denver Nuggets, Ty averaged 24.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, earning his second consecutive All-Star selection and solidifying his place among the league’s elite.

“Packer Ty is a game-changer,” said Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens. “His ability to stretch the floor, defend multiple positions, and step up in clutch moments makes him the perfect fit for our core.”

Ty is expected to join forces with Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, forming a formidable trio that many analysts now consider the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.

In a statement released early Friday, Ty expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career:

“I’ve always admired the legacy of the Celtics — the championships, the fans, the culture. I’m here to win, and I believe Boston is where I can do that.”

The five-year deal, which averages $30 million annually, includes performance incentives and a player option in the final year, according to league insiders.

Boston fans are already buzzing with excitement, flooding social media with reactions and playoff predictions. Season ticket sales have reportedly surged overnight following the announcement.

More details are expected to emerge during the official press conference scheduled for Monday at TD Garden, where Ty will be introduced to the media and fans in full Celtics green.
