In a stunning turn of events, Duke basketball phenom Cooper Flagg took to social media this morning to announce that he will be returning to the Blue Devils for his sophomore season. The announcement comes amid growing speculation that the projected No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft would forgo college eligibility after just one season.

“After talking with my family and the coaches, I’ve decided that I’m not leaving Duke,” Flagg said in a video post that quickly went viral. “This is where I want to be. I’m not done here yet.”

Flagg, who averaged 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game during a stellar freshman campaign, played a pivotal role in Duke’s deep NCAA Tournament run. His decision to stay not only reshapes the college basketball landscape for the 2025–26 season but also gives Duke a legitimate shot at a national title.

Head coach Jon Scheyer called Flagg’s return “a game-changer” and praised the young star for his leadership and commitment to team goals.

With Flagg back in Durham, excitement is already building among Duke fans and college basketball analysts, who are now eyeing the Blue Devils as early favorites for next year’s NCAA championship.
