Former Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe, who is currently coaching the New Jersey Devils, has apparently communicated with Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube. According to sources, the two teams may be discussing a possible trade, coaching partnership, or tactical shift.
After taking over the Devils’ bench this season, Keefe, who coached the Maple Leafs from 2019 to 2024, is trying to change up his roster. Since both teams want to make it to the postseason, there is a lot of conjecture as to whether this pact will entail staff changes, player transfers, or a sharing of tactical knowledge.
Although neither Berube nor Keefe have made any public remarks regarding the content of their chat, insiders speculate that a formal announcement may be on the horizon. The potential effects of this discovery on both franchises are being eagerly anticipated by both fans and pundits.
