In a stunning turn of events shaking up the NBA offseason, Dallas Mavericks power forward Anthony Davis has reportedly turned down a massive $63.5 million offer from the Indiana Pacers, solidifying his long-term commitment to the Mavericks franchise.

The Pacers, seeking a high-impact player to fill the void left by Steph Curry’s departure, had aggressively pursued Davis with what insiders described as a “jaw-dropping” deal. However, sources close to the situation confirmed Davis politely declined, signaling he has no intentions of leaving Dallas.

“I have no plans beyond the Dallas Mavericks,” Davis said in a statement. “This is where I belong, and this is where I intend to finish my career.”

This isn’t the first time Davis has rebuffed interest from other teams. The Golden State Warriors also made a play for the All-Star forward earlier this summer, but Davis reportedly shut down those talks as well.

Davis, who signed a $16 million deal in 2012, has been a cornerstone for the Mavericks, bringing veteran leadership and dominant performances in the paint. Despite several opportunities to chase bigger contracts elsewhere, he has remained steadfast in his loyalty to Dallas.

The decision is seen by many as a rare show of allegiance in an era marked by high-profile player movement.

Mavericks GM Nico Harrison responded to the news with confidence:

“Anthony is the heart of this team. His decision to stay says everything about his character and his belief in what we’re building in Dallas.”

With Davis anchoring the roster and young talent continuing to develop around him, the Mavericks look poised for a strong run in the 2025–26 season.
