Former NFL offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth, renowned for his dominant presence on the field and leadership off it, continues to earn recognition long after retiring from professional football.

Whitworth, who played an impressive 16 seasons in the National Football League, began his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent 11 seasons anchoring the offensive line. He concluded his career with the Los Angeles Rams, playing five standout seasons that included a Super Bowl LVI victory in 2022 — making him the oldest offensive lineman to ever start in a Super Bowl.

Although often mistakenly referred to as a defensive end, Whitworth was in fact a highly decorated offensive tackle. Known for his durability, technical skill, and mentorship of younger players, he was a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-team All-Pro selection. In 2021, he was also named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, honoring his charitable work and community impact.

Since retiring, Whitworth has remained active in philanthropy and media, serving as an NFL analyst and continuing his outreach through his Big Whit Foundation, which supports underserved youth and families.

With his recent induction into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, Whitworth’s legacy as both an athlete and humanitarian is more evident than ever. Fans and analysts alike are now wondering: could Canton be next?
