 Netflix has just announced the official release of “The UnderDog,” a groundbreaking new sports documentary chronicling the life and career of NBA star Blake Griffin. The film is set to premiere worldwide on July 15, 2025, exclusively on the streaming platform.

 

Directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay, “The UnderDog” traces Griffin’s journey from his Oklahoma roots to becoming one of the most electrifying and misunderstood players in modern basketball history. Featuring never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews with teammates, coaches, and family, as well as commentary from basketball legends like Chris Paul, Doc Rivers, and LeBron James, the documentary dives deep into the highs, lows, injuries, and comebacks that defined Griffin’s career.

 

Netflix describes the film as “a raw, emotional portrait of a man who redefined what it means to be a power forward, both on and off the court.”
