BREAKING NEWS: Tyrese Haliburton’s Injury Casts Shadow Over Pacers’ NBA Finals Hopes

The Indiana Pacers are facing a critical juncture in the 2025 NBA Finals as star guard Tyrese Haliburton grapples with a potential right calf strain. Haliburton, has been instrumental in the Pacers’ playoff run, is scheduled for an MRI to assess the severity of the injury ahead of the pivotal Game 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In Game 5, Haliburton’s performance was notably compromised. He scored just four points—all from free throws—and missed all six of his field goal attempts, marking his quietest postseason showing. Despite the injury, Haliburton expressed a strong desire to play in Game 6, stating, “If I can walk, then I want to play.”

The Pacers trail the Thunder 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, with Game 6 set for Thursday evening in Indianapolis. With their championship aspirations on the line, the Pacers will need a collective effort to overcome the potential absence of their star guard. Backup guard T.J. McConnell, who contributed 18 points off the bench in Game 5, may see an expanded role if Haliburton is limited.

As the Pacers await Haliburton’s MRI results, the basketball world watches closely to see if the young star can overcome this setback and lead his team to a decisive Game 7.
