BREAKING NEWS: Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to inflammation in his right wrist. The move, retroactive to Friday, comes after Harper returned to the lineup earlier this week following a five-game absence due to a right elbow injury sustained on May 27. Since his return, Harper has struggled at the plate, going 1-for-11 with five strikeouts in recent games.

This wrist issue is not new for Harper, as he dealt with similar discomfort last season. The Phillies are hopeful that the extra rest will prevent any long-term damage. In Harper’s absence, Alec Bohm is expected to cover first base duties. Additionally, the team has called up Otto Kemp, their No. 24 prospect, from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Kemp has been impressive this season, batting .317 with 14 home runs and 55 RBIs in 57 games.

The Phillies have been struggling recently, losing seven of their last eight games and relinquishing their NL East lead to the Mets. Harper’s injury adds to the team’s challenges as they look to rebound and regain their momentum.

As of now, there is no official timeline for Harper’s return, but the Phillies are optimistic that he will be back in action soon.
