Notre Dame MBB forward Tae Davis is set to enter the transfer portal - InsideNDSports: Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football & Basketball RecruitingIn a major development for Oklahoma basketball, forward Tae Davis has officially withdrawn his name from the 2025 NBA Draft and announced his decision to return to Norman for the 2025-26 college basketball season. The move comes as a significant boost for the Sooners, who now retain one of their most versatile and experienced players for another year.

As the head coach of this program, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Tae back in the fold. His return signals not only his belief in our team’s potential but also his trust in our ability to help him continue growing as a player and a leader. In an era where so many young athletes are quick to leap to the next level, Tae’s decision speaks volumes about his maturity, work ethic, and commitment to unfinished business at the college level.

Tae made a strong case for himself this past season, showcasing a well-rounded skill set that included tough defense, improved perimeter shooting, and a growing ability to create off the dribble. NBA scouts took notice, and he earned several pre-draft workout invitations. But ultimately, after consulting with family, our coaching staff, and trusted advisors, he made the decision to return — and we believe it’s the right one for his long-term development.

This upcoming season, Tae will be a cornerstone of our roster. He brings size, athleticism, and high basketball IQ, but more importantly, he brings leadership. His presence in the locker room and on the court will be invaluable to our younger players. He knows the system, he understands the culture, and he’s hungry to compete.

We’ve got big goals for the 2025-26 season — and having Tae Davis back in crimson and cream puts us one step closer to achieving them.
