In a stunning development that has sent shockwaves through the college football world, Wisconsin Badgers Head Coach Luke Fickell has officially resigned, just moments after submitting a formal letter to the university’s athletic department. The decision follows the dramatic return of former Wisconsin football legend Barry Alvarez, who is reportedly stepping into a new executive leadership role as Senior Football Advisor.

 

Fickell, who took over as head coach in 2022 and was entering his third season with the program, had been praised for reinvigorating Wisconsin’s football culture and modernizing its play style.
