TRAGEDY STRIKES SWISS ALPS: TWO MISSING POLICE OFFICERS FOUND DECEASED NEAR MATTERHORN

Zermatt, Switzerland – A heartbreaking conclusion to an extensive search operation.

Missing persons case turns tragic.

Swiss Police Officers, Marc Ryser and Alessandro Bianchi, reported missing during a patrol in the Matterhorn region, have been found deceased.

 

“The investigation is ongoing, but our hearts go out to the families,” said Swiss Federal Police Chief, Urs Nef.

 

Recovery efforts challenged.

 

Ryser and Bianchi’s bodies were recovered from a remote, inaccessible area near the Matterhorn summit.

 

“Rescuers faced treacherous terrain and harsh weather,” said Valais Canton Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Isabelle Baumann.

 

Autopsy pending.

Causes of death unknown; investigation continues.

 

“We mourn the loss of two brave officers,” said Swiss President, Alain Berset.

 

Community pays respects.

 

Zermatt residents gather for a candlelight vigil tonight at 8 PM.

 

A memorial service will be held at the Zermatt Police Station.
