A train disaster near the famous Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps a few minutes ago claimed several lives and injured a number of others. While assessing the situation and trying to save passengers, emergency personnel are currently on the spot.
According to preliminary reports, there was mayhem among the passengers as the train fell off the track while going over a steep portion. Witnesses reported hearing a huge crash, panicking as emergency alerts went out.
Rescue crews have been sent by the local government, and people who are seriously injured are being airlifted to adjacent hospitals via helicopters. As the reason of the incident is being investigated, the area has been roped off.
