Stephen A. Smith boldly claims Steph Curry ‘deserved the MVP’ Over LeBron James

NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith is not one to shy away from expressing his takes. Smith believes that Golden State Warriors veteran, Stephen Curry, should have won the 2024 Olympic basketball MVP award instead of LA Lakers’ LeBron James.

Team USA won the gold medal, after going undefeated with a plus-64-point differential in Paris. Steph Curry had a slow start but excelled in the knockout stage, averaging 14.8 points per game. However, his leadership and shooting were crucial in Team USA’s victories, particularly in the semifinals and gold medal game, where he led a masterclass on beyond the arc shooting.

Stephen A. Smith acknowledged King James’ impact and leadership but argued that Chef Curry deserved the honor of being crowned MVP. James was voted the best player by his teammates and demonstrated clutch leadership. However, there’s no denying that Curry’s contributions were instrumental in Team USA’s success and final glory.

The ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’, a 2x MVP winner, is already validated and focused on helping the Warriors become contenders again. After finishing 10th last season, Curry is ready for the challenge to get the Dubs back to contenders in a fiercely contested Western Conference.
