New York Rangers winger, Artemi Panarin, was left reeling yesterday after receiving a devastating phone call from his family, informing him that two of his brothers had passed away in a tragic accident in their hometown of Korkino, Russia.
Panarin, who has been in outstanding form for the Rangers this season, was visibly shaken by the news and has taken a leave of absence from the team to be with his family.
“The entire Rangers organization is heartbroken for Artemi and his loved ones,” said Rangers head coach, Gerard Gallant. “We’ll do everything we can to support him during this difficult time.”
