In a devastating turn of events, Gene Winfield, the legendary Rat Rods customizer and fabricator, has passed away in a plane crash while flying to a secret Rat Rods meeting on a private island.
According to sources, Winfield’s plane, which was carrying him and several other high-profile Rat Rods members, crashed into the ocean due to a malfunctioning engine.
“We’re still trying to come to terms with this loss,” said a Rat Rods spokesperson. “Gene was a true pioneer in the Rat Rods community and will be deeply missed.”
