The Detroit Lions and the entire NFL community are mourning the tragic loss of legendary linebacker Chris Spielman, who passed away after a courageous battle with illness.

Spielman, a four-time Pro Bowl selection and Lions icon, was 57 years old.

“Chris was a true Lion and a hero to many,” said a team spokesperson. “His strength and resilience inspired us all.”
