Celtic FC Mourns the Loss of Rosemary Burns, Wife of Club Legend Tommy Burns

Rosemary Burns, the widow of Celtic FC hero Tommy Burns, passed away on board a recent Jet2 flight from Tenerife to Glasgow, causing tragedy and necessitating an emergency landing at Cork Airport.

A medical incident on board caused the airplane, which had taken off from Tenerife, where Rosemary and her husband had been vacationing, to be rerouted to Cork. Regrettably, Rosemary lost her battle with illness and died in spite of the flight crew’s and the medical team’s best efforts.

Former footballer and Celtic FC icon Tommy Burns was traveling with his spouse. During his tenure with the team, he had won six league titles, five Scottish Cups, and one League Cup medal. He had been an important player for the team. The couple was on vacation in the Canary Islands when Rosemary opted to take an earlier flight home due to an illness she had earlier in the trip.

Everyone on board was taken aback by the emergency landing at Cork Airport, but the airline and airport personnel handled the situation with tact and skill. The event serves as a moving reminder of how fleeting life is and how crucial it is to savor each minute spent with loved ones.

The football community has come together to give support and sympathies, and the Burns family has asked for privacy during this trying time. Everyone who knew Rosemary will miss her terribly, and those who loved her will always carry her memories with them.
