Shocking Twist: Lewis Hamilton’s cruel Canadian Grand Prix surprise leaves Martin Brundle perplexed

Lewis Hamilton’s attempt to secure pole position in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix collapsed on his final lap, leaving Martin Brundle perplexed.

Hamilton got off to a great start in qualifying, setting the third-best time in the first and second quickest times in the second. But as the drivers switched tires in the third round, Hamilton’s advantage vanished.

George Russell, his Mercedes teammate, went on to win pole even though he finished in precisely the same time as Max Verstappen of Red Bull. In the end, Russell won because he completed his lap first; this is only the second time in the sport’s history that pole position has been determined in this manner.
