Greetings, Houston Astros supporters.
I find myself thinking back on our amazing adventure together as I sit down to compose this letter. You’ve supported us through it all, from the peaks of triumph to the valleys of loss. I would like to use this opportunity to thank you so much for your unwavering support and to talk about a few key issues that have been on my mind a lot.
I would like to start by apologizing. I recognize the sadness and annoyance that many of you had following the sign-stealing controversy because I am a part of the Houston Astros organization. I sincerely apologize for it; it was a sad time in our team’s history. I understand the significance that our actions had on the baseball game as well as the faith and confidence you, our devoted supporters, had in us.I would like you to know that I accept full responsibility for my part in what happened. I am truly sorry for the repercussions of my actions, whether they were intended or not. I’ve given my actions and decisions a great deal of thought, and I’m determined to regain your trust by acting honorably both on and off the field.I want to reassure you that my love for this city and this club has never faltered, despite the difficulties we’ve encountered. I’m from Houston, so it’s an honor to wear the Astros outfit. Finally, I would want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your steadfast dedication and support. We are able to go out on the field every day and do what we love because of you, the heart and soul of our squad. We will create the next chapter in Astros history together, overcoming any challenge that gets in our way.
