The Toronto Blue Jays are defeated 5-1 by the streaking Minnesota Twins, who are led by Santana’s home run and Ober’s ten strikeouts.

Bailey Ober pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up no runs while striking out 10 batters, including Carlos Santana, who hit a three-run home run. On Sunday, the Minnesota Twins defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 to win their 17th game in the previous 20.

The Twins have won six straight series for the first time since September 2010. The Twins had a difficult start to the season, dropping 13 of their first 20 games. They did, however, reverse the situation with a 12-game winning streak.

Ober was thrilled to hear that the squad had achieved success recently, noting, “Especially considering where we started at, seventeen out of twenty is pretty cool to hear.” Everyone, in my opinion, is just going with the flow and is eager to get outside and play.

Santana extended the Twins’ record of hitting at least one home run in 20 straight games played in Toronto by hitting his third straight home run during their games there.
Before, from July 30, 1998, to August 25, 2001, the Twins had a stretch of 21 straight games versus Kansas City during which they hit home homers. In addition, Santana scored three home runs in a row from April 25–27.

Max Kepler extended his record-hitting streak to 14 games with a two-run double. It was a scoreless game until the seventh inning, when third baseman Ernie Clement made a mistake that allowed Kepler to reach base.

Alex Kirilloff made a fielder’s choice and Willi Castro hit a single after that. After that, Santana connected on a 2-0 pitch from Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah for his eighth home run of the year.

“He was behind in the count, he tried to make an out and he threw a changeup, and I got a good swing,” Santana said in response to his home run. Santana hit his second home run off of Manoah in his ten career at-bats.
