The Miami Dolphins suffered a Wild Card round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs four months ago.
However, this does not mean the team has moved on.
Tyreek Hill, Miami’s star receiver, caught five passes for 62 yards and scored the team’s only touchdown that day. On paper, a satisfactory performance. But the eyes reveal a different story. Many fans chastised Tyreek for his efforts that day, and it appears they weren’t alone.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, usually the calmest guy in the room, reportedly told Hill after the game, “Reek, you’re supposed to be the best player in the league, and you’ve got this guy putting hands all over you.”

Tyreek’s performance that day just wasn’t good enough, according to his own words. Hill is currently earning $30 million per year, and 5 catches on 8 targets in a playoff game is simply not good enough. In reality, none of Miami’s players were ready for the game. Miami’s offense enjoyed a historically strong regular season, but only scored 7 points in the season’s biggest game.
It was frigid, for sure. But, guess what? It’s freezing for both teams!
Anyway, that loss is far behind me. I’m not going to think about it every day for the next five months.
