Essendon has named a 28-man squad to face St Kilda at RSEA Park on Friday, February 23.
Essendon’s first match against competition ahead of the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season will feature all four of the club’s off-season recruits: Jade Gresham, Todd Goldstein, Xavier Duursma, and Ben McKay.
Defender Jordan Ridley, forward Peter Wright, midfielder Ben Hobbs, and first-year draftee Nate Caddy were declared unavailable for selection as the club takes a cautious approach to minor injury concerns.
